Baraboo Boys Cross Country coach Peter Arndt retired after 36 years of coaching the Baraboo Thunderbird Cross Country team. Coach Arndt is Baraboo’s all-time winningest coach with numerous records under his belt. During his time as coach his runners earned 26 conference championships, four state wins, and countless championships in invitationals and meets across the state.More importantly, he has shaped the lives of countless young athletes who have gone through his program. He is known for not only molding great runners, but honest and hardworking young men. For his dedication he was inducted into both eh Baraboo High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013 and the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2017. Hundreds of his students and athletes have gone on to do great things and contribute to their community; they owe a great deal of gratitude to Coach Arndt for helping them get started on their path.
